Discovery & Disaster

I followed Vasco de Gama’s route to India, but the winds had pushed us West and we are currently in what I call, Brazil. We’ve been here for 12 days and we have explored at least 50 miles of the coast and we have seen some incredible things. I’ve met some Indians, they are “amiable and rustic”, that’s how I will describe them in the letter to the king. They live slightly different from the way we do and they use decorative feather for like, everything. It’s actually inspiring if you think about it. I’m bored here though, there isn’t much more to do and I’m getting impatient.

So I have convinced the crew to return to our voyage to India and we are off. I’m currently below deck, but I’m staring out the window. What I am seeing right now at the Cape of Good hope is not a happy sight, actually I should probably go warn the crew if they haven’t seen the weather already______ I have just gotten news that during the storm most of our ships have been lost throughout the Cape Area. This is not good, not good at all. I need to figure out how to re-group us all. Who knew being the head of this would be so stressful, but I can do this.
